JUNOR: TRIPLE J GUEST MIX THIS WEEKEND ON THE KICK ON

TRIPLE J GUEST MIX THIS WEEKEND ON THE KICK ON

Two years after taking over the Triple J Hip-Hop Show with a power ca$h mix-up and a groundbreaking interview with Hau Latukefu, Juñor has been invited back onto the Js this weekend for a special Aus Music Month guest mix. Joining Shantan Wantan Ichiban on The Kick On this Saturday night, Junor will attempt to cram a booming Australian hip-hop/R&B scene into a jam-packed half hour mix.

In the time since that first Triple J mix the local scene has exploded! Names including ChillinIt, OneFour and Sampa The Great are making waves across the globe, while Junor‘s reputation as a key tastemaker in the culture has been certified both live – DJing across major festivals & events, and behind the scene via the AUD’$ co-curation of the “The New Australia” playlist on Apple Music.

“The first mix I recorded was 90 tracks and went for about 50 mins. It’s mad hard to leave certain tracks and artists out when there’s so many people making moves in the culture. I wish i could fit in everyone I wanted….” – Junor

Esteemed as a key outlet from the streets, AUD’$ continues to highlight the best unknown and emerging talent around the country, and so expect to hear a whole rack of new names getting their national radio debut during the 37 minute guest mix. 71 tracks back to back recorded live in the AUD’$ studio on CDJs – all from Australia including fan favs Manu Crook$, Jesswar and Dallas Woods, as well as newer names including Clariyah Bo$$, Danii Jordan and Lakshane.

The Kick On on Triple J airs on a Saturday Night / Sunday morning from 1AM – 6AM. Junor’s guest mix and interview are due to air approximately 2.45AM. Tune in at 107.5FM on your radio dial in Melbourne or online via triplej.com.au. The guest mix audio, full tracklist and Shantan x Junor interview will be available on the triple j website next week. A video of the live guest mix recording will be available on AUD’$ youtube channel next week.
