NEW WAVE TAKES OVER
In 2011, SPRUNG Festival literally sprung onto the scene with a bang, successfully showcasing Australia’s premier hip-hop talent. Fast forward to 2013, and SPRUNG regrettably closed their doors.
2017 is a year of blessings, as SPRUNG makes it’s return with what we’d like to firmly say is the festivals strongest, and surely most diverse lineup to date.
Featuring headline slots by some of Australian Hip Hop’s heaviest, SPRUNG is successfully bringing us older and newer waves of Australian Hip Hop together as one, with a laced line-up of local talent.
Threaded throughout SPRUNG 2017’s lineup announcement you may recognise a fair few names from AUD$ and REAL Music friends and family. As the festival continues to create a platform for new and upcoming acts to take the spotlight, reflecting their new sounds across the nation.
No longer just spitting rhymes over a beat track, or blaring aggressive rap, this event will showcase artists diversifying the genre, and bringing elements of electronic, funk, soul, RnB, blues, gospel, and even rock or emo sounds to a new branch of our culture. SPRUNG will be held at an intimate outdoor venue giving fans an up close and personal festival experience, and all for a pretty tasty price.
Headlined by Australian Hip-Hop alumni; Illy, SPRUNG 2017’s lineup is off to a strong start, following up with Tkay Maidza has us feelin’ some type of way. The 21 year old has recently broken out internationally with support by the likes of RL GRIME in the electronic trap world, which is pretty damn inspiring.
Running all through the lineup with our woes; Ivan Ooze, new REAL Music signee; Midas.Gold, AUD$’ founder Junõr, Travy P, Jesswar, and Carmouflage Rose to name just a few… so you know if they got us like that, we’ll be turnin’ up to turn up the function.
Drawing from talent all across Australia, and bringing together a smorgasbord of the best and most unique
voices in the Hip Hop and Urban communities, the full SPRUNG Festival line up for 2017 is:
