JEROME FARAH – I CAN’T BREATHE

Jerome Farah’s first commercial solo release ‘I Can’t Breathe’ is a hard hitting and thought provoking reflection on the experiences of POC with police brutality and racism. The song’s timely release and poignant references; “the history of my pigment is written on my face” adds a local dynamic to the current global Black Lives Matter movement. The former Jakubi frontman moves effortlessly between soulful vocals and explosive rap spreading an important message to challenge white supremacy. All proceeds from the song are being donated to the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service.

MS. THANDI – HUNNY

Though released back in March, Ms Thandi’s latest drop ‘Hunny’ is a smooth RnB piece that reflects delicately on the enjoying good times, nights out and having fun. The feel good song, which has been steadily getting national airplay on lyrics calling on listeners to “forget your state of mind” can’t help but make you bop.

NERVE x JUST A GENT – TULIPS

Nerve is back. And he’s hitting hard with another Just A Gent collab. The song’s dark and explosive lyrics pack a punch, while the underground fight club story and movie worthy visuals truly signal that Nerve continues to level up in 2020.

TRILLA VENUS – ASTRONAUT (FEAT LAZY J)

Trilla Venus’ new track ‘Astronaut’ is melodic and catchy, with Trilla’s melodic voice reminiscent of Young Thug delivering catchy braggadocios bars. Lazy J’s smooth transitions between melodic singing and fast paced raps makes this one into a hit which will be on repeat daily.

INDIGHOST – CRUISIN

Independent Canberra now Melbourne emcee INDIGHOST comes through with introspective, effortless bars that are perfect for ‘cruisin’.  Filmed around the 3ks northern suburbs, the boom bap vibe is a throwback chiller that continues to put the Ghost on the map locally.

Curated by Frank Tremain, Dav Hart and Matthew Craig.
