Filipino-Australian artist Joseph Scott has reached new heights in his breakout solo efforts this year, from brands to boxers all adding steps to his climbing ladder.

Originally from Tweed Heads, the Sydney-based singer and rapper was once a part of hip-hop duo Kings Kross. Starting his solo career amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Joseph signed to the Melbourne-based Teamwrk Records in 2022.

On his label debut ‘Lavish’, produced by John Turabian, he created his own melodic trap anthem for dream-chasers and began manifesting his own year ahead.

“Shit don’t happen overnight, I’m going crazy, going stupid. If I think I can’t do more, well, god damn I must be foolish.”

The 24-year-old became the face and voice of an activewear range by STAX with the single, following it up with collaborations alongside Brnz and Jono. As pandemic restrictions were lifted, Joseph was one of the first to retake the stages.

Touring capital cities across the east coast, he also performed as headline act at Zerafa v Hardman boxing match in Melbourne’s Convention Centre with 4,000 in attendance and an estimated 60,000 viewers on TV.

“The show’s have been the most memorable moments, you know like, I’ve just started performing this year and the crowds are getting bigger, it’s getting fun, it’s like my new comfort space.”
