CASH GRAB: 6 TRACKS WE’RE STILL BUMPING IN SEPTEMBER

Though dozens of new tracks are being featured on AUD’$ channels weekly, here’s a bunch we keep going back to ICYMI. You can bump them all in our Spotify playlist ????

JCK – STARZ

“I’m tryina look out for my cousins, how they holdin up. I know my grandma in the Starz watchin over us…”

Current AU CASH RADIO cover artist Jck is the next Polynesian R&B talent just waiting to break out. Possessing incredible melodies, poignant storytelling and showcasing a raw honesty on his tracks, the Canberra based recording artist hits right in the feels with ‘Starz’. A song dedicated to the pain of losing his grandmother.

OLIVE AMUN – USED TO

“You’re so sophisticated. I’m drinking liquor, getting faded till I hit the pavement…”

Melbourne heartthrob Olive Amun has had a stellar 2020. Proof of regular releases triggering the Spotify algorithm, the multi-instrumentalist has seen his listener numbers skyrocket over recent months. While other tracks have caught more attention, it’s stripped-back, low-fi break-up anthem ‘Used To’ that has been on repeat ever since it dropped.

BECCA HATCH – 2560

“Where’d you get that Xanax and that chain around your neck you can’t afford?”

Brown girl from the suburbs Becca Hatch has enjoyed a rapid ascension of late, climbing quickly from a debut single all the way to a feature spot on Triple J’s Like A Version.  At only 19 years of age, the Campelltown resident writes and performs with a maturity and confidence well beyond her years. On her syncopated, infections debut 2560 she spits straight bars but does it in such a pleasant manner you’re too lost in the vibe to notice.

HOODIE4L x KUDA – BILLY JEANS

“Who knows if there’s tomorrow, fuck tomorrow we just pouring up…”

Melbourne’s Hoodie4L is the most slept on of the super talented African-Australian hip-hop wave that has emerged in recent years. And Billy Jeans is his most under appreciated song. On the Kuda produced cut, he tightly walks the line between clever multi-syllabic rhyming and melodic, nonchalant delivery in a cadence reminiscent of Lil Baby.

LISI – GOT THIS

“I came outta nowhere like a Pop Quiz, now my shows sell tix like I play for Boston…”

It’s hard to find a miss in Goodna emcee Lisi’s catalogue. And while his more staunch releases may have reached greater heights, its the bright, catchy and braggadocios Got This that contains some of his most witty lyrics and impressive punchlines. A feel-good record ideal to pop on the AUX on your next sunny drive.

LIL SPACELY – MURDAHH FT BIG SKEEZ & RICO PACINO

“Fresh discussions with with labels plotting to break this records. I ain’t shining shit unless we talkin’ couple acres…”

Quite simply this might be the hardest joint to drop from the AU culture in recent memory. A powerhouse collaboration between Western Sydney emcees Lil Spacely, Big Skeez and Rico Pacino. A proper execution of rap as a craft. Punchlines, flow switches, street vernacular all delivered over a cold soul sample and slapping drums.
